Networking

We are continuously expanding our contacts. We work on a continuing basis with local, regional and national groups to promote projects, education and training in Community Development. We are also on the Donegal CDPs Networking group and the Steering Group for the Combat Poverty Research project being organised by the Donegal CDPs to analyse the impact of poverty in the county.

Rural Development

We work with rural groups including Rossnowlagh and Cashelard Rural Women's Groups and Rossnowlagh Community Council, organising projects, researching funding and information to combat isolation and develop sustainable projects in the areas. We help to provide training in personal development as well as arts and crafts courses, networking and community building projects.

Our work in Atlantic View C.D.P. is very much based on networking with community gropus and other agencies locally, regionally and nationally. It is very important to the development of our work that we nurture a good relationship with all of these, otherwise we could never carry out the course and activities which we do. We promotes the courses and activities providing education and training for individuals or groups.
We work with the VEC, the local town councils, county council, funding agencies, Donegal Women's Network, Second Chance Education and FÁS. We network withe the nine C.D.P.s in Donegal and meet on a regular basis.
We network with other agencies locally, regionally and nationally relevant to the groups we work with i.e. Voice for Older People, National Carer's Assocation, National Women's Congress etc.

We held two very successful Networking Nights, one in Bundoran and teh other in Ballyshannon. In Bundoran the main requirement was a community centre for people to go to hold meetings, organise prokects and provide in general a large space where the community could meet especially the youth. Parents voiced their concern that the only place the youth could go th where they did not have to spend money was the beach and Rogey which created its own problems.

In Ballyshannon a very vibrant youth group gave a presentation with the main aim being that they wanted to be seen as important members of the community with a lot to offer. Representatives from the Active Age, Rural Travel, Primary Health, NYP and Childcare spoke on the importance of getting people to work together, the benefits of joining a community group, rural travel, the cost of childcare and community health.

We have helped to provide training and education in Peace Building, Personal Development, Recreation, Community Building and Networking. The following tables details Community Groups, Service Providers and Funders we continue to network with:
