Cross Border Work

We continue to develop our work on a Cross Border basis to promote peace and understanding among communities and different religions and races. We promote integration and work to stop segregation with marginalised groups; Travellers, Non Irish Nationals and others to increase communication and create a more inclusive society. We also organise workshops and training on Peace Building, Personal Development, Conservation, Anti Racism & Discrimination training through the Cross Border Women's Collective.

We worked cross border in partnership with Ballybeen Women's Centre, Dunhold and the Ardmonagh Family Centre, Tuf Lodge, Belfast organising four workshops each year. This group is in the process of developing a DVD telling the story of the women at the time of the troubles and how they overcame their prejudices to create a strong cohesive group which they are now. We have applied for funding for this project and hope to bring it to fruition within the next two years. This group has expanded to create a much larger cross community network with over forty women from all walks of life and religions. The ethos of the gropu is breaking down stereotyping, to stop segregation and promote living together in peace towards a more peaceful future. This year Atlantic View CDP were once again nominated by AONTAS for our cross border work.
