Art & Drama
We access funding on regular on a basis for different community groups to run arts & crafts courses which provides mental stimulus and social outlets. The group have produced wonderful arts & crafts which some of them exhibited.

We accessed funding for the local Brass & Reed Band from the local Town Council to enable them to continue to teach music and develop their music archives.

We work with Ceoltas Ceoltaire Eireann, Cor Craoibhe, Thimble Theatre and Musical Society providing photocopying services.

Drama
Atlantic View CDP's Community Co-ordinator writes, produces and directs plays on local issues and of historic interest. The actors are taken from marginalised groups such as the Active Age, Unemployed, Women's Groups and Youth who have not participated before in the Arts. Over the years some of the groups have been short listed in local Radio Drama Competitions, taken part in plays in Leinster House for the launch of Women in the Picture by the National Women's Congress and in the Four Season's Hotel for the Country University American group. They were also involved in Pub and Street Theatre. Through this practice we have seen individuals grow, develop and go on to further education and training or become part of the work force in jobs they would beforehand only have dreamed of.
